I noticed in the locast website that locast is available on tivo and tivo stream but i cant find the app on my tivo bolt vox. SO am i missing something or is the app not on my tivo box?
Hi, Did Tivo make some sort of deal with Locast to push it's service onto us Tivo Stream 4K users? I have Sling Tv bc overall I don't care about the local channels. Not the end of the world and I still like the Tivo Stream 4K, but to the best of my knowledge there is no way of removing this...
If you have access to locals via LOCAST Home - Locast TiVo Stream integrates Locast very well into your viewing experience. You won't need a tuner or antenna.
I'm in the Minneapolis market and locast is not showing up in my guide. Sling, Tivo+, Tubi, and Pluto all appear but locast does not. The locast application has been installed and I created an account with locast. I spent an hour on the phone with Tivo Support trying to get it to work. I completely reset my 4k stream. The 2nd time I called in the Tivo support rep told me there was no ...
Locast aims to avoid the legal problems Aereo encountered by providing local channels for free. I was just watching several of the NY OTA channels just now (on my PC) and they looked quite good. They are currently offering locals in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington DC, Baltimore, Chicago, Houston, Dallas and Denver.
In order to keep the wife happy, I purchased Locast for those times. At $5/mo not a heavy cost and have the app on the Roku but would like to not have to switch to it to use Locast. Locast still advertises Tivo DVR as a viable platform but I don't see availability in the app section. I am on TE3 on both Bolts. Must I upgrade?
I am trying to add locast.org as a new app so I can record over the air content. I have found other solutions outside of Tivo, but I made the investment in Tivo and would like to continue to use the Tivo DVR. Does anyone have a solution for hacking the Tivo bolt please? Thank you You can access Locast through the "Vewd" App Store app on you Tivo.
After it finished automatically updating to the latest version of the Stream app (you can tell it updated because the logos and UI styling is different) it now lists Locast content in the guide first followed by TiVo+ content. Since I don't have Locast installed, if I pick a Locast channel, it offers to install the Locast app (I haven't yet).
Tivo does not have Disney+ or Locast available on your Tivo Bolt devices, Locast is free service so at the most it should be just a matter of Tivo providing the code to Locast for their review then add the app or provide necessary coding details to Locast to write the app.
My solution (since AT&T TV doesn't have the local CW channel) is a combination of Locast (if available in your area...$5 per month to get rid of the nag screens that pop up) and Channels DVR (where you bring in Locast and other services and record shows, and thus skip commercials) which is $8 a month.
